According to store of knowledge Upnishads, Om is consists of three words A , U , M which signifies names and symbols of God.
Concerning Om in Taittriyopnishad having said that :–
ओमिति ब्रह्म। ओमितीदँसर्वम्। ओमित्येतदनुकृतिर्हस्म वा अप्यो श्रावयेत्याश्रावयन्ति। ओमिति सामानि गायन्ति।
ओँशोमिति शस्त्राणि शँसन्ति । ओमित्यध्वर्युः प्रतिगरं प्रतिगृणाति । ओमिति ब्रह्मा प्रसौति । ओमित्यग्निहोत्रमनुजानाति ।
ओमिति ब्राह्मणः प्रवक्ष्यन्नाह ब्रह्मोपाप्नवानीति ब्रह्मैवोपाप्नोति ॥ १ ॥
It means Om is Brahma. Om is this evident universe. Om is it's (Evident universe) imitation. Hey teacher ! Tell me more about Om. Teacher tells that by singing Om the Sama singer start singing Sama song. By saying Om–Om Mantra form of Shaashtra reads. Only from Om Adrenaline antidote pronounces Mantras. Only from Om Agnihotra begins. While studying, only from saying Om Brahman tells to earn Brahma. Only by Om he earns Brahma.
In many ancient Hindu text books something has been said about Om. Like in Patanjali Yog Sutras (PYS) on of the leading text in Yog explained Om as pranava that is Iswara. In Bhagvat Geeta chapter 8 Verse 13, Om means Brahma or supreme consciousness and who remember it, always attain supreme goals.

ओमित्येकाक्षरं ब्रह्म व्याहरन्मामनुस्मरन् |
य: प्रयाति त्यजन्देहं स याति परमां गतिम् || 13||

Cardiovascular diseases caused by Hypertension and persistent hypertension. It was reported that chanting Om will reduce the chances of this type of diseases.
Om chanting cause vibrations around our ear, which is transmitted through the auricular branch of the vagus nerve and stimulates vagal nerve. It has been observed that Vagal nerve stimulation is the most common treatment for eradication of Dipression.
Vedic chanting provides good memory and attention. It may be due to stimulation of brain cells by Vedic chanting. Vedic chanting reduces anxiety levels which improves memory and learning. According to the study published by PK Das Institute of Medical Sciences, Kerala they have observed significant decrease in the blood pressure and pulse rate followed by Om meditation.
At last they concluded that the practice of Om chanting in a traditional way can be used as one of the powerful means in calming down the mind, enhancing memory.
